BASE releases mobile customers from contracts
Brussels 15 May 2012 - BASE is implementing a radical change in the mobile offering in Belgium. Whilst the market is currently typified by persistent issues surrounding contractual freedom and restrictions on cancellation fees, BASE is taking things to the next level. All mobile customers, existing and new alike, will be entirely free to switch rate schemes and operators. Which means zero waits and zero expenses. Through the Charter, BASE also undertakes not only to ensure consumers‘ freedom but also to observe the other rights of mobile consumers. BASE is the first to sign this Charter and is calling on the other operators to shoulder the same commitment to see the sector move towards an open and transparent telecoms market.
