2008
The last city - for the moment - to join the SMS poetry club is Liège. With attention for young people, Serge Rangoni, Director of Liège´s Théâtre de la Place, wanted to start the 2008-2009 season with a new kind of competition, via a contemporary means of communication that is used by young and old. The step to join the SMS poetry competitions of BASE was thus quickly taken. The poets in Liège and environs came up with 250 SMS poems around the central theme of ‘Nous deux, C le corps accord'. Daniel Genicot did the best job of convincing the jury of his abilities, and on 7 March 2009 he and the other prize winners were showered with flowers and awards at the Théâtre de la Place.

2010
The ‘Théâtre de la Place' and BASE have proceeded to the prize-giving ceremony of the SMS poetry contest around the central theme of "Mes racines me donnent des L", during an exclusive night on Saturday 8 May 2010. Students of several secondary schools were also rewarded for their participation in the writing contest "Ma famille a disjoncté".
Mrs Ludivine Joillot eventually turned out to be the best poet with her SMS poem, entirely written in ellipses. She won before Cyrielle Doutrewe and Ilyass Atia, who succeeded in convincing the jury with their poem in SMS language. Twenty entries were eventually published in the traditional SMS poetry booklet.
